The complex includes thoroughbred racing at Meadowlands Racetrack, and the New Jersey Metro Stars soccer team also calls the Meadowlands home. A number of shopping centers and restaurants are located within the Meadowlands Complex. Outside of the Meadowlands one will find many unique shopping malls and outlets in Millburn, Montclair, Ridgewood, and around the area.

To get an even better experience for the cultural diversity in this region one can visit museums such as Tenafly's African Art Museum, the Zimmerli Art Museum in New Brunswick, or the Newark Museum. Millburn's renowned Paper Mill Playhouse and the award-winning George Street Playhouse are two excellent venues for live theater entertainment.
